Description:

Depression and social anxiety are two mental health disorders that have a profound impact on social interactions. Traditionally, the neural underpinnings of social cognition in mental health disorders have been studied using paradigms such as facial emotion recognition, which don’t involve actual interactions with others. In this presentation, I will focus on studies where we investigate decision making and the neural basis of social interactions in depression and social anxiety, using paradigms that actively recreate social interactions and fMRI.
