Research interests:

  • The use of micro electrode arrays, chronically implanted in the brains of monkeys, to study the control of reaching and grasping.
  • The use of computational methods to study the interactions of populations of neurons during movement and motor learning.
  • The representation of limb state in the brainstem and somatosensory cortex.
  • The development of neural interfaces for the restoration of movement and somatosensation.
