Gene therapy in primates: a first at CERVO

Sébastien Tremblay’s team, in close collaboration with animal health technicians, the CERVO Imaging Platform, and veterinarians from Université Laval’s DSV and the University of Pennsylvania, has achieved a first in Quebec: the robotic, MRI-guided administration of a gene therapy in a primate.

Our imaging and translational neurosurgery infrastructure makes it possible to track the diffusion of the therapeutic agent directly in the brain and to reach targets with very high precision. This milestone opens up new possibilities for translational neurosurgery at CERVO.

Congratulations to the entire team and to all the partners involved!
