A multidisciplinary team from Université Laval, composed of Gabriel Gagnon-Turcotte, PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and of Professors Benoît Gosselin, of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, Christian Éthier and Yves De Koninck, both at the CERVO Brain Research Centre, will present their work at the prestigious « IEEE International Solid-state Circuits Conference (ISSCC) » next February in San Francisco, a first for Université Laval.
ISSCC is the most prominent world forum in the area of conception of electronic chips and innovation in microelectronics. This event, which is an exceptional showcase for university research and industry on semiconductors, brings together the top experts in the field, with many coming from companies like Intel, AMD, Apple, Google.
The team from Université Laval will present the first microelectronic chip incorporating important new functions for biomedical research, including electrophysiological recording coupled with optogenetic stimulation. This new chip will help in the study of certain brain diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease.
Congratulations to the team!
