The Brain Canada Foundation is proud to support the Advanced Optical Nanoscopy Platform for Neuroscience, a new pan-Canadian platform led by Flavie Lavoie-Cardinal at the Cervo Research Center of theLaval University.
To better understand diseases and disorders of the brain, it is necessary to be able to observe how brain cells communicate, change and become out of order in the context of diseases.
This platform will make next-generation optical nanoscopy technologies more accessible to researchers in Quebec and Canada, in order to study the brain at a level that traditional microscopes do not allow to achieve. Over the next three years, this work will support research on diseases and disorders such as Alzheimer, Epilepsy, Autism and Parkinson’s, while strengthening Canada’s leadership in neurophotonics and molecular brain imaging.
